Accessibility in the Workplace

Accessibility in the Workplace

One in seven Canadians currently lives with a disability. Providing universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible workplaces ensures everyone is able to participate and live to their full potential.

According to the Rick Hansen Foundation, one in seven Canadian adults currently lives with a mobility, vision or hearing disability. Within the next 20 years, the number of Canadians with disabilities is expected to grow to more than 9 million – or one in five.

Providing universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible workplaces ensures Canadians are able to fully participate in the workforce.

Our Headquarters Are Certified by the Rick Hansen Foundation

Our headquarters in Ottawa was purposefully built with accessibility in mind and is certified by the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification program. We are also encouraging businesses, as well as chambers and boards of trade across Canada to be early adopters of this program and to be leaders in helping build a more accessible Canada.
