Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses all over Canada have been recovering and adjusting to the new normal. Esprit Rafting Adventures from Mansfield-et-Pontefract, Quebec is one of 62 small businesses that received a $10,000 CBRN grant.
Owner Jim Coffey has not only showed resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Coffey recounts a fire that tragically burnt Esprit Rafting Adventures’ main base camp to the ground, yet they managed to take customers rafting the next day.
Although the adventure tourism sector is very much about social proximity, Esprit Rafting Adventures is striving to find ways to maintain community, protect one another, and remain open during the pandemic.
One of the main initiatives Esprit Rafting Adventures is looking to achieve with the Small Business Relief Fund is finding ways to maintain customer’s mental and physical health in an adventurous way.
Esprit Rafting Adventures has proven adaptability and will continue to be a beacon of adventure for their community.
