While gathered in Ottawa for the Canadian Chamber’s annual Hill Day 2023, members of our Western Executive Council met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss the biggest issues facing businesses in Western Canada and the opportunities they see for growth and further collaboration.

A variety of topics were covered over the hour of productive discussion, including infrastructure, labour shortages, regulatory uncertainty, agriculture and natural resources. As a major trading corridor, council members stressed the role Western Canada plays as a critical gateway to growing markets, including the Indo-Pacific region.

With the ability to meet the growing global demand for food, fuel, fertilizer and other natural resources, the Western Council believes Canada has both the responsibility and the opportunity to provide these ethically and sustainably produced resources to our allies around the world.
