The Manufacturing and Value Chains Committee leads on industrial policy development to better enable a business environment that is competitive for Canadian manufacturers.
About the Committee
The Committee serves as a forum for representatives from the automotive, food, energy, petrochemical, plastics, aerospace, steel, oil and gas, and consumer packaged good sectors to provide a national perspective on related policy matters.
Members are experts in the fields of advanced manufacturing, technology adoption, supply chains, transport and logistics, cross-border trade, taxation and sustainability. These experts aim to research and develop policies on the economic, procurement, regulatory reform, innovation, commercialization, productivity and national security issues that are critical to the success of Canadian manufacturing.
The Manufacturing and Value Chains Committee is mandated to:
- Identify key business issues under federal jurisdiction affecting Canadian manufacturers.
- Develop unified policy positions by fostering discussions among members and working with both governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.
- Help enable a competitive business environment for a wide range of manufacturers from small and local to those managing international supply chains.
