Chamber Import Bond Services
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) project is a multi-year overhaul of the platform the CBSA uses to interact with Canadian companies.
WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
Coinciding with the changes to CBSA and CARM, we would like to assist Canadian businesses in obtaining the tools they need to import product into Canada.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM?
All Canadian importers (those associated with international trade) from SMEs to larger scale businesses. These businesses can be in any industry as long as they import product into Canada but a few examples are those importing food products, construction materials, clothing, supplies and customs brokers.
HOW DOES THIS HELP MY BUSINESS?
The benefit of going through Chamber Import Bond Services is that your business will see the cost of the premiums upfront. The premium that you will pay is $525 for a minimum bond purchase of $5,000. (1% per $1,000 with a minimum premium of $525). Bonds under $25,000 are pre-approved. Your business also gets the support and guidance from our team on how to apply for the bond and our partner Aon will assist in the underwriting and provide guidance on how to submit the bonds to CBSA.
Complete the form and submit to Aon. Payment is processed through Aon’s portal once the form has been submitted. Chamber Import Bond Services are already up and running!
