Long-term vision among welcome first steps outlined in Supply Chain Task Force final report, but more work must be done – Canadian Chamber of Commerce

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is pleased to see the recommendations outlined in today's final report from the Supply Chain Task Force. These are a positive first step, but there is much work that must be done.

(OTTAWA) – October 06, 2022 – Today, Robin Guy, Senior Director of Transportation, Infrastructure & Regulatory Policy at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement regarding the release of the final report from the National Supply Chain Task Force:

“The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is pleased to see the recommendations outlined in today’s final report from the Supply Chain Task Force. These are a positive first step, but there is much work that must be done.

Supply chain issues remain a key obstacle to growth for business. Without serious investment, we risk hindering Canada’s economic growth, competitiveness and international reputation as a reliable partner for business. Investing in supply chain resiliency and safeguarding critical infrastructure will be especially important moving forward to ensure supply chains can continue uninterrupted in the event of disruptions.

We are pleased to see the final report includes many of the Canadian Chamber’s recommendations, such as the development of a long-term vision for our supply chains, and a mechanism to review, update and modernize regulations.

Canadian businesses look forward to continue working closely with government on the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the report.”
