Canadian Chamber Statement on Labour Disputes in Canadian Ports
The government has referred three labour disputes involving ports in British Columbia and Quebec to the Canada Industrial Relations Board.
Canadians will be relieved to see the government has acted to prevent further harm to our economy caused by the shutdown of our largest ports on both coasts and taken the necessary steps to protect Canadian workers and businesses.
We acknowledge the government’s efforts to limit the damage and hope this will lead to a resolution of these disputes.
