Ms. Forrest is an English-qualified lawyer at Latham & Watkins LLP and currently is based in their London office. She advises clients on complex international disputes, with a focus on international commercial and investment arbitration and multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation.  

 

She represents states, state entities, corporations, and international organizations, across a range of industry sectors, in international investment treaty and commercial arbitrations under ad hoc and institutional (including ICSID, SIAC, LCIA, ICC, and UNCITRAL) rules. Her experience covers both common and civil law jurisdictions.

 

Ms. Forrest also has substantial experience in complex litigation in England and overseas. She has represented clients in a wide range of disputes concerning public international law, international trade law, competition law, and environmental law. Her role also includes advising boards and investment committees on environment, sustainability, and the interaction between business and human rights.

 

As part of her broader advisory practice, Ms. Forrest has advised clients on various aspects of public international law, including state responsibility, state immunity, consular and diplomatic immunity, accession to international treaties, as well as international trade and human rights law. She frequently advises clients on prospective treaty claims under bilateral and multilateral trade and investment treaties. 

 

Ms Forrest has studied in both Canada and the UK. She holds a MA in Law from the University of Cambridge and a LLM from University College London, as well as a BA and Masters in international relations and economics from the University of Calgary. Ms. Forrest regularly speaks and publishes on topical issues in international arbitration and public international law.
