Donny Surtani

Donny Surtani is a commercial arbitration and mediation specialist based in Toronto. He is a former partner in the London office of Herbert Smith Freehills, where his practice over a period of 15 years encompassed complex commercial and financial arbitration and litigation. He has acted for clients under the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and LCIA-India Rules, among others, with a particular focus on the financial services, energy and telecom sectors. He accepts appointments to act as arbitrator, mediator, or settlement counsel. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and a former Chartered Management Accountant, and apart from his practice at HSF he has industry experience in the Energy sector in the UK and in Asia. He was accredited as a mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). Given his background, he has a particular specialism in accountancy matters, M&A disputes, shareholder claims and matters with complex damages aspects.
