The Canadian Chamber has sent a delegation to the 2024 B7 in Italy to take part in critical policy discussions regarding key global economic and business issues.

Two years ago, the G7 set the aim for AI to help “deliver economic growth that maximizes the benefits of digital technologies”. Now, some countries are at risk of falling behind  or missing out on this opportunity altogether  with some starting to move much faster on AI adoption than others.

On the eve of the B7 Summit, the Canadian Chamber hosted an event titled “AI: the missing piece of the productivity puzzle?”, which will take stock of global trends in Al adoption, emerging best practices and pathways that can best help G7 policymakers unlock a new AI-enabled productivity boom.

About the B7

The Business Federations of the Group of Seven – B7 is the most important and recognized of the G7 Engagement Groups. The role of the B7 is to represent and coordinate the interests and positions of the business community in the G7 countries and to develop concrete and actionable proposals for G7 leaders.

The 2024 B7 is led by Confindustria and will focus on four clusters:

The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on business and the economy will be this year’s overlaying theme and will play an important role in all policy discussions.
