At Jayman BUILT, we believe that sustainability and environmental stewardship are not just buzzwords; they are imperatives for ensuring a viable future. As a trailblazer in the homebuilding industry, we have always been dedicated to setting new benchmarks for sustainable practices and environmental responsibility—and we enthusiastically continue that legacy today.

Path to Net Zero: Affordable Sustainability for All

In 2022, we introduced the Path to Net Zero, a groundbreaking initiative offering energy-efficient home options accessible to all Albertans, regardless of their lifestyle or budget. This program makes sustainable living attainable for a broader audience, demonstrating that environmental responsibility isn’t a luxury product. By making net-zero homes more accessible, we are empowering homeowners to make choices that benefit both their wallets and the planet.

The Built Green Initiative: A Legacy of Leadership

Our commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in our history. As the first builder and founding member of Built Green Canada, we have been a pioneer in promoting eco-friendly construction practices from the start. This initiative underscores our dedication to creating homes that not only meet but exceed environmental standards, ensuring healthier living spaces for families and a lesser impact on our planet.

The Jayman Code

A standard Jayman home is 33% more energy-efficient than the Alberta building code requires. This remarkable accomplishment highlights our commitment to reducing energy consumption and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. By integrating solar-powered solutions, energy-efficient windows, and state-of-the-art HVAC systems, our homes offer significant cost savings on energy bills for homeowners, proving that sustainability can go hand-in-hand with economic benefits.

Mega Moves in Solar Energy

Since 2019, we have made significant strides in incorporating renewable energy into our homes. We have installed over 7.6 megawatts of solar power, resulting in a substantial reduction of carbon emissions by over 8,300 metric tonnes. This investment in solar energy not only reduces the carbon footprint of our homes but also provides homeowners with a sustainable and cost-effective energy source.

Reducing Waste and Conserving Water

Our environmental stewardship extends beyond energy efficiency. We have recycled 40,000 metric tonnes of waste material from our construction sites, diverting it from landfills and contributing to a circular economy. Additionally, our commitment to water conservation is evident in the use of low-flow fixtures in all our homes. Since 2002, this initiative has saved 84 million liters of water, equivalent to 4,000 liters per home.

A Commitment to the Future

Our dedication to sustainability is not just a business strategy; it is a core value that drives every aspect of our operations. Our innovative practices and unwavering commitment to reducing environmental impact prove that it is possible to build homes that are both sustainable and affordable. By continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in sustainable homebuilding, we are paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future for all.
