Reconnecting with Addie Greco-Sanchez, CBRN Small Business Relief Fund Recipient and Women in Business Panellist

In June 2020, as part of the Canadian Business Resilience Network campaign, we, with the generosity of Salesforce (NYSE:CRM), gave 62 small Canadian businesses from coast to coast to coast $10,000 grants through the CBRN Small Business Relief Fund to help their recovery efforts during unprecedented times. Since then, grant recipients have been able to use the money to make changes that will help their business stay afloat amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

We recently caught up with Addie Greco-Sanchez, President of AGS Rehab Solutions and CBRN Small Business Relief Fund Recipient, to talk about her business one year later and her upcoming role as a panellist at our Women in Business Summit.

Canadian Chamber: One year later, can you share the full impact of the CBRN Small Business Relief Fund, made possible by Salesforce?

Addie: “I was pleased to see business leaders stepping up to support small business. It helped restore my faith in humanity to see Salesforce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce going the extra mile. Through the grant, we were able to bring back laid-off employees sooner. We also gave out a $50 grocery gift card to all of our employees.”

Canadian Chamber: You are going to be a panellist on our Women Business Owners and Entrepreneurs panel, why did you want to support the Women in Business Summit?

Addie: “Women are at the core of my business, with over 80% of our employees being women. My business partner who is also my sister, is also a woman. I have a history of supporting women in my previous career, working with women and children fleeing domestic violence situations, and that care for women continues even in my business. We’re a WBE certified business, and I want to share my experience so other leaders understand why supporting women in business is so important.”

Canadian Chamber: Why should other businesses and women entrepreneurs care about the Women in Business Summit?

Addie: “As has been said in the promotion of the summit, this is not a women’s issue, but a business issue. Women are crucial to economic success and activity in Canada. We have faced unique challenges through the pandemic that need to be recognized and discussed and that other leaders, regardless of gender, can learn from.”
