Our Statement Regarding Progress on Advancing Internal Trade

The coming months will present an immense economic challenge for Canadians and there is no sense keeping trade barriers in place a minute longer than necessary.

March 6, 2025

We are pleased by the federal government’s recent announcement on streamlining internal trade. The coming months will present an immense economic challenge for Canadians and there is no sense keeping trade barriers in place a minute longer than necessary.

While Premiers have indicated that a broad agreement on mutual recognition is coming within months, we urge them to be bold and move fast. Inertia will cost us. Canadians are united: let’s make sure our economy is too.
