Canada needs modern tools to fight crime. Canadian businesses fully understand and agree with that as it affects them, their families and, of course, their customers.

Canada competes globally for digital investment. Tens of thousands of Canadians work across the country in fields that will be impacted by this legislation.

We know strong encryption and consumer privacy are fundamental for our economic and national security.

As Parliament studies Bill C-22, the focus should be on giving law enforcement surgical, proportionate and technologically realistic authorities to help fight crime. Businesses stand ready to work with Parliament to get this right.
