Canadian Chamber welcomes Rose Kattackal as Diversity and Inclusion Advisor

(OTTAWA) – May 4, 2021 – The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is extremely pleased to announce that Rose Kattackal has joined as its new Diversity and Inclusion Advisor.

In her role, Ms. Kattackal will be working with the Canadian Chamber and the chamber network to promote diversity and inclusion in Canada.

“The Chamber has the ability, and responsibility to make a real difference in promoting diversity and inclusion because we are the largest business association in Canada,” said Gayla Brock-Woodland, Chief Operating Officer at the Canadian Chamber.  “We want to enhance support for members to fill their talent and skills gaps with underrepresented members of the Canadian population, while also supporting learning and best practices business to business.

“When we started our search, we knew we were looking for an exceptional candidate,” said Brock-Woodland. “We needed someone with policy and program expertise, a demonstrated track record influencing organizational change, and most importantly, lived experience. We found that rare combination with Rose.”

Rose Kattackal has over two decades of executive experience in transforming organizations to renew strategy, policy, program and operations. Working in a variety of portfolios in defence, social and technology organizations, she has helped shape diverse and inclusive organizations and communities to strengthen and leverage economic, social and sustainable opportunities for employees, leaders, clients and citizens. 

“I’m thrilled to join the Chamber,” said Ms. Kattackal. “Workplaces have a critical role to play in this space, and I’m really looking forward to working with the Canadian Chamber and the chamber network to help build diverse and inclusive businesses that support our families, our communities and our country.”

Ms. Kattackal holds a master’s of Public Policy from Queen’s University. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in Biology as well as Commerce from the University of Ottawa and is a certified public accountant.
