Canadian Chamber welcomes Industry Strategy Council report

As Canadian businesses continue grappling with the pandemic’s impact on our economy, the Chamber welcomes the Industry Strategy Council report's release, including its recommendations on how we can rebuild Canada's economy.

(OTTAWA) December 11, 2020 – Canadian Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Perrin Beatty issued the following statement in response to today’s release of the Industry Strategy Council report.

“As Canadian businesses continue grappling with the pandemic’s impact on our economy, it is more important than ever for us to have a clear recovery plan that builds on the remarkable resilience and innovation that businesses have demonstrated throughout the crisis.

I welcome the Industry Strategy Council report’s release, including its recommendations on how we can rebuild Canada’s economy. The Canadian Chamber was pleased to meet with the Council to share our Roadmap to Recovery proposals. We thank the Council’s Chair, Monique Leroux, and the other members for substantively engaging the business community in their work.

We look forward to reviewing the Council’s recommendations and advancing recommendations that will enhance Canada’s competitiveness. We will be pleased to share our analysis of the Strategy Council’s report with the government and to work with them on the much-needed plan to restart our economy.”
