Led by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, this delegation participated in the 2025 Business 20 (B20) Summit — the official G20 forum for the international business community.
With the 2025 summit focused on inclusive growth and prosperity through global cooperation, this mission came at a critical moment, as the world sought to advance sustainable development, build resilient supply chains, and support an equitable economic recovery. Learn more about the B20 working groups.
This mission offered Canadian businesses a unique opportunity to meet counterparts from G20 countries and beyond, engage in high-level policy discussions on issues most relevant to business, and promote Canada’s leadership in building a more competitive and sustainable global economy. As it was the first time that the G20 and B20 summits were held in Africa, this mission also represented a unique opportunity to diversify trade partners and build relationships with African business leaders.
As members of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s B20 delegation, participants had access to the official B20 program, which took place from the afternoon of November 18 to the end of the day on November 20 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Our delegation also had the opportunity to take part in relevant side programs organized by other global partners, as well as small meetings organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. A more detailed delegation program was under development.
Due to security requirements associated with this high-profile global event, we had asked participants to register in advance, no later than October 15. We had also encouraged participants to book their flights and accommodations as soon as possible, as the event dates coincided with the G20.
Note:
- The 2025 B20 was a closed, invitation-only event.
- The 2025 G20 took place immediately after the B20, on November 22 and 23, in Johannesburg. Access to the B20 did not grant access to the G20.
- The number of spots was limited due to the number of tickets allocated to the B20 delegation, and registrations were processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Created in 2010, the B20 serves as the G20’s official dialogue forum with the global business community.
