About the Campaign
Canadians and public officials need to be aware of the consequences of unsafe business environments. When local businesses leave, there are fewer jobs, resulting in continuous decline for affected communities — but when local businesses thrive, there are more and better jobs to go around and more public revenue to support the social programs Canadians value.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Safer Business Campaign is a national initiative that mobilizes businesses affected by public safety issues to identify and advocate for policies that will reduce crime — particularly by violent and repeat offenders — as well as bolster front-line supports for the most vulnerable in society.
Members of the campaign will develop a unified industry response and propose appropriate policy solutions to address rising crime and growing business unease, delivering their findings via a national public relations push that targets Canadians and federal stakeholders.
