Our Innovations & Intellectual Property Committee monitors and responds to international and domestic policy issues related to the digital economy, telecommunications, emerging technologies, health innovation, data governance and privacy as well as international developments that could affect the intangible economy and the intellectual property rights of our membership.

About the Committee 

Our Innovations & Intellectual Property Committee is mandated:

  • To provide the Canadian business lens on international and domestic policy related to the digital economy, telecommunications, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, health innovation, data governance and privacy, and intellectual property (IP).
  • To work with the Canadian government to interpret and implement policies and programs that ensure Canada maintains its position as a global leader for innovative businesses.
  • To serve as the focal point for digital economy issues related, in particular, to business input into OECD and other international forums and to provide advice on IP matters, particularly, to our activity on international trade agreements.
  • To support and work with health and bio-sciences companies to position Canada as a global leader in health and bio-sciences innovation through long-term sustainable growth, driven by the collaboration of the Canadian government.
