To advocate for harmonized sustainability reporting standards, encourage the acceleration of private investment in decarbonization, and translate relevant corporate objectives into public policy recommendations.
The Council
The Green and Transition Finance Council is dedicated to collaborating with government, regulators, Indigenous groups, and other relevant stakeholders. The Council’s primary focus is advocating for harmonized sustainability reporting standards, fostering the acceleration of private investment in decarbonization, and translating corporate objectives into public policy recommendations.
Policy Priorities
- Encouraging adoption of climate-related financial disclosures and sustainable finance taxonomy.
- Developing market infrastructure to support sustainable finance.
- Facilitating investments in grey and green infrastructure for climate resilience.
- Investing in research and data on climate change impacts.
- Ensuring financial regulations do not hinder investments in low-carbon technologies and clean energy infrastructure.
- Promoting economic, regulatory, and administrative certainty for sustainable investing.
- Launching a talent strategy to address the talent gap in sustainability professionals.
- Supporting the development of expertise in sustainable finance and related fields.
- Working with governments to develop a project pipeline suitable for green and transition finance, aligning with societal objectives
