Calgary Stampede Mixer: Where Western Canada’s Leaders Came Together
Our annual Mixer welcomed business and government leaders for an afternoon of meaningful conversations, new connections and discussions about the issues that matter most to Canadian business.
Every July, the Calgary Stampede brings people from across the country together. For the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, it’s also an opportunity to bring together the leaders shaping Canada’s economy.
Our annual Calgary Stampede Mixer, on July 4, 2026, welcomed business and government leaders from across Western Canada and beyond for an afternoon of meaningful conversations, new connections and discussions about the issues that matter most to Canadian business.
We were pleased to welcome Premier Danielle Smith, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Canada Tim Hodgson, Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador Tony Wakeham and many other leaders from across the business community and government.

The mixer capped off several days of engagement focused on strengthening relationships and advancing conversations on Canada’s economic future.
Earlier that morning, our Western Executive Council met to discuss the priorities, opportunities and challenges facing businesses across the region — ensuring Western Canada’s perspective continues to help shape our national policy agenda.

The evening before, we hosted a VIP dinner featuring a fireside chat between the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s President and CEO Candace Laing and Alberta’s former Senior Representative to the United States, James Rajotte. Their discussion explored the evolving Canada–U.S. relationship, the upcoming CUSMA review, Canada’s trade diversification efforts and the role Canadian energy can play in strengthening North American competitiveness.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. The conversations started during Stampede week won’t end there, and we look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen Canada’s economy in the months ahead.
