Incoterms® 2020

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce—as ICC Canada, Canada’s national committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the exclusive point of sale in Canada for ICC publications—is preparing for the launch of Incoterms® 2020. This new edition of the Incoterms® rules will become available in September 2019 and will take effect as of January 1, 2020. The new rules will reflect the changing economic landscape since the release of Incoterms® 2010 and will provide specific guidance to individuals participating in the import and export of global trade.

What Are Incoterms® Rules?

ICC’s Incoterms® rules are the world’s essential terms of trade for the sale of goods. Whether you are filing a purchase order, packaging and labelling a shipment for freight transport, or preparing a certificate of origin at a port, the Incoterms® rules are there to guide you. The Incoterms® rules provide specific guidance to individuals participating in the import and export of global trade on a daily basis.
