International Business Leader Lifetime Achievement Award

Postponed to April 29, 2021 | Ritz-Carlton | Toronto, ON

COVID-19 has affected all kinds of events and schedules. Because of our concerns about the health and safety of our guests and the unknowns surrounding mass gatherings, we have decided to postpone both the International Business Leader of the Year Awards Dinner and the International Business Leader Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner.

The International Business Leader Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner, celebrating the Hon. Hal Jackman, will be postponed to April 29, 2021. The dinner will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto at 181 Wellington Street West. The evening will feature special guest the Right. Hon. Brian Mulroney and a performance by Juno Award winner Measha Brueggergosman.

Our International Business Leader Awards (Leader of the Year and Lifetime Achievement) were established in 1992 to recognize business executives from Canadian companies whose visionary corporate leadership has allowed their company to develop a strong, competitive Canadian presence in global markets. In addition to the honorees’ professional achievements, all recipients have demonstrated generous philanthropic endeavours.

Our Lifetime Achievement recipient is the Hon. Henry Newton Rowell “Hal” Jackman. Mr. Jackman spent his life building a financial services empire, including The Empire Life Insurance Company, The National Trust Company and Dominion of Canada General Insurance. Today E-L Financial remains one of the country’s largest investment and insurance holding companies. Mr. Jackman is not only known for his distinguished career in business and politics, as the 25th lieutenant governor of Ontario, but for his ongoing dedication to public service and his lifelong support of the arts and education. His work has earned him the titles of Officer of the Order of Canada and Member of the Order of Ontario as well as the recipient of 10 honorary doctorates.

We hope to welcome you next year at these celebratory events honouring two great Canadians.
