Theme: Labour, Immigration and Populations Growth

Labour and skills shortages continue to dominate the headlines across the country, and are particularly acute on the East coast. Businesses throughout Atlantic Canada continue to report difficulties finding new workers, along with addressing changing environments and requirements for existing employees. Where the Atlantic Pilot Program has made inroads in attracting skilled immigrants, the focus necessarily needs to shift to retention and recruitment across skill levels. And while there is much discussion around education and training, re-skilling and up-skilling, we need to better appreciate what is being done – and what is working. Join us for a dinner discussion on what business can be doing - concretely and successfully - to address community and sectoral workforce challenges across the region.
